Hello. I am just an average person off the street (well, maybe a little above average ;), and I was wondering if this is acutally a group run by some agency, or if it's a bunch of people interested in space exploration. Please tell me it's for everyone.
Can someone explain to me the difference between NASA and the ISA? Sorry for the silly questions, but I'm new here, and hoping to fit in. Thanks! Teresa K. |

NASA is a National Space Agency, and is to serve only the interests of the United States.
ISA is an International Space Agency, and is to act as an enabler for National Space Agencies to work together in a formal and structured way, out side the National Interest, and in international joint efforts like a manned Mars mission or large civil space projects like an International Space Station, Moon Bases, or Mars Bases. ISA is "NOT" a World Space Agency and is "NOT" part of the United Nations. NASA website is http://www.nasa.gov... ISA website is http://www.internatio... This space meetup group is for any person or group who wants to pursue space related issues, and is not controled by the government or narrow agendas like NASA or Space.Com, ect. I am glad to see that the owners of meetup.com have "NOT" allowed any group or person to take over this board, and it is open to those who pay to use and support this board. Welcome, and I hope you check out the International Space Agency website. Ad-Astra! To The Stars! The ISA Global Team |
